Australian families are set to benefit from a major new initiative designed to help children with developmental delay and autism receive support earlier in life.
The Australian Government's Thriving Kids program is focused on children aged 8 years and under who have developmental delay or autism with low to moderate support needs. The goal is to make it easier for families to access trusted information, allied health professionals and evidence-based support in the places children already spend their time—such as home, childcare and school. The rollout is scheduled to begin from 1 October 2026.
